This basement in Mount Vernon, NY started as a bare concrete slab marked by years of adhesive patches and surface damage, with bare walls, no finished ceiling, and no usable flooring. We gutted the space and framed new walls to establish clean, square lines throughout the basement. Drywall was hung, taped, and finished to a smooth, paint-ready surface, and recessed lighting was installed flush into the new ceiling. For the floor, we laid large-format porcelain tile in a light wood-look finish across the full footprint of the room, then added white baseboard trim along the walls before painting them. The result is a fully finished basement in Mount Vernon, NY that functions as a proper lower-level living room, clean, bright, and built to last.
