Look up a building's open HPD violations

Type a New York City address. We pull the building's open violations from HPD's public records, group them by apartment, and show which ones one crew can clear in a single visit.

  1. Step 1

    Look it up

Every open violation, grouped by apartment, with the date HPD wants it corrected.

  2. Step 2

    We walk it

We see each apartment with you or your super and confirm what's in our trades.

  3. Step 3

    One visit per apartment

Plaster, paint, doors, floors, tile and windows done together, so the tenant is disturbed once.

  4. Step 4

    You certify

The owner certifies correction with HPD. Our photos and invoice are the backup.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Do you file the certification of correction with HPD?

No. The owner or managing agent certifies correction with HPD. We give you dated before-and-after photos and an itemized invoice for each apartment so the certification is quick.

What about mold?

We find and fix the water that's causing it, then rebuild the drywall, plaster and paint. The mold itself is handled by a licensed mold remediation contractor, and we schedule around them.

What about lead-based paint violations?

A lead hazard order (§27-2056.6) has to be corrected by an EPA RRP certified firm using lead-safe work practices, with clearance dust wipes taken by an independent inspector. The lookup marks those separately so you can see them.

Is the lookup free?

Yes. It reads HPD's public data. You don't need to give us anything to use it.
