Kitchen Cabinet Repaint and Three-Room Painting in the Bronx

In a Bronx, NY apartment, we repainted laminate kitchen cabinets along with the walls and ceilings in the kitchen, living room and hallway. The cabinet doors had already been taken down before we arrived, and one upper cabinet's end panel carried an earlier unprimed brush coat of color. We started with masking on day one, then cleaned every cabinet box, door and drawer front, including the previously brush-coated end panel, and coated them with a bonding primer made for laminate before applying two finish coats of the deep teal the homeowner chose. The walls in all three rooms received two coats, with a deep plum accent wall in both the living room and the hallway, and the ceilings went from lavender to white. We then rehung the doors on their existing hinges and reinstalled the pulls. The job ran from that first day of masking to a final walkthrough five days later. The cabinets, walls and ceilings throughout the apartment carry their new finish.
