In Rosedale, New York, a driveway and walkway of concrete pavers laid in a running bond pattern of charcoal and red brick-toned units had been installed the previous November but never sealed. Hardened cement blobs from that original installation were scattered across the surface, bonded onto the pavers over the winter. We mechanically removed the hardened cement blobs from the paver faces without damaging the pavers or disturbing the jointing sand below, then gave the full surface a thorough clean to strip away efflorescence, grime, and the cement haze that had settled into the texture of both the charcoal and red units. With the pavers clean and dry, we sealed the full driveway and walkway area. The finished driveway and walkway in Rosedale now show a glossy, sealed surface with no trace of the cement blobs that had marred it, and joints that read clean and sand-filled across the pavers.
