This project covered the rear deck and exterior stairs in New City, NY. The deck boards and stair treads were coated in peeling dark gray paint over weathered wood, and the handrails had gone weathered gray as well. We pressure washed the entire deck, stripping the peeling paint, embedded grime, and loose wood fibers down to bare wood on the boards and stair treads. Once the wood had dried, we applied a semi-transparent brown stain to the deck boards, stair treads, and handrails, and painted the railings and balusters black. The finished deck in New City now shows the brown stained boards, stair treads, and handrails set against the black railings and balusters, with patio furniture and a grill back in place.
