What the Work Involves
A patch gets cut back to sound material, backed, boarded, and taped, then finished with three coats of joint compound and sanded to a smooth, paint-ready surface. That's a Level 4 finish — sanded smooth and ready for primer and paint — and it typically runs two to three visits so each coat has time to dry before the next goes on.
New drywall installation follows the same steps at a larger scale: hang the board, tape the seams, and mud to that same Level 4 finish. Ceilings take more setup and care than walls, which is reflected in the rate.

A full standard room, about 16 sheets of board, is a separate published flat rate of $1,600; the square-foot rate and the room rate are two different published figures, not something we add together on one job.
The estimate visit is free and no-obligation. We look at the damage, note what's needed, and put together a line-item proposal so you know what each patch, panel, or repaint costs before we start.
What's Included and What's Quoted Separately
We supply all materials — board, tape, joint compound, primer, paint, and hardware — and each one shows up as its own line on the quote. You approve the paint color and sheen before we start.
Skim coating, demo, and type-X board for garages or basements are quoted as their own separate lines, since the scope and material needs vary job to job. Repainting the patched or new wall is always its own line too, separate from the patch or install cost.
Timing and Living Through the Work
Because each coat of mud needs time to dry, a patch usually spans two to three visits rather than one long sitting. We cover floors and nearby furniture and clean up after each visit, so the room stays usable while the compound cures.
You can use the room between visits — we just need clear access to the patch area when we come back to sand or add the next coat.
